Watch Out aka Watch, DOB 9/30/19, 76#, 133 races

Watch’s littermate, Blame the Clown, arrived in Delaware in June of 2023. His trainer and the kennel hand in his race kennel described him as a sweet, well-behaved, loving boy. The drivers who brought him back to DE were convinced that, despite his size, Watch thinks he’s a lap dog – he spent much of the ride from WV with his front paws in their laps and he would have happily done the same with his back paws!

Here’s what his fosterers have to say about him after 36 hours:

  • Really sweet and affectionate.
  • Calm and relaxed.
  • Crates well.
  • After some restlessness the first night, he’s sleeping well at night.
  • Playing well and getting along well with our male & female greyhound, both in the house and in the yard.
  • Seems very food motivated.
  • Eats nicely & slowly in his crate – doesn’t gulp his food down.

UPDATE 2/12/24: Watch is doing well, he has a laid back attitude and is a sweetheart.  We have finally taken the belly band off and have had no accidents in the house. He is sweet on the leash and likes to smell everything. He has done his business on the leash with no problem. He goes up and down the stairs with a little coaxing. When it comes to being kenneled we have had to push him in a few times, except when it comes to meal time. Luckily he does not whine or fuss when we leave him in for awhile.  He is eating his kibble well. We are working on his begging and counter surfing. He loves playing with toys. Coral has put him in his place for getting too friendly and wanting to check out her kennel. Fortunately he got out of her personal zone quickly. He is getting along well with our pups and ignoring the neighbor dogs. He has not been near any children so I can’t give a report on that. He was fine with getting a bath and we’ll work on trimming his nails later this week.
