BGR Scarface aka Scar, black, DOB 6/17/19, 74lbs, 130 official races. Scar earned the “Best Traveler” award on the 7.5 hour trip back to Delaware. Whether another dog was stepping on him, using his butt as a pillow, or snarking at him for being too close, Scar’s reaction was, “Whatever.” He’d simply move a smidge to the right or to the left, curl up and go back to sleep.

From his foster mom: Scar’s personality is sweet and very loving; he’s a great dog! Super friendly and very laid back are the two words that come to mind. he LOVES to be petted and really enjoys head and neck rubs. He is a leaner and has a very endearing helicopter tail when he is super happy and excited.  He has been a lovely gentleman to our two resident hounds and there have been no snarks or bossy behaviors so far.

He rests in his crate through the night without any fuss.  As expected, he’s an excited boy when he comes out of his crate and has a lot of energy first thing in the morning.  He is ready to start the day – no coffee needed!  Our routine is to go out and pee immediately and Scar will wander the yard with the two resident male greyhounds doing his business and checking out everything.

In the house, Scar will quickly find a dog bed, carpet or any other area to settle down and relax. He does not follow us around endlessly. When crated for his rest time – or when we had to go out for a few hours – he showed no signs of separation anxiety.  I think with continued alone training, he’ll continue to be ok when his people leave him.

Scar has A LOT of interest in doors that lead outside. EXTRA CARE and ATTENTION is necessary as he is a slim dog that can easily slide through a small space. He is quick and VERY PERSISTENT in wanting to follow a person out the door. He met our neighbors’ mixed breed female dog (about 18 months old) – no issues as all. He has been perfect with the adults in the house. His leash manners are about 8 out of 10.   He pulls for the first 5 minutes due to excitement for the walk and then settles nicely as the walk continues.
