Due to a bruised left shoulder three months ago, Porter’s breeder/owner decided he wouldn’t be registered with the NGA or trained to race. GPAD picked him up from his farm in West Virginia on 7/19.
Porter may look like an adult greyhound, but he still has a puppy brain and lots of puppy energy; DOB is 9/11/25. We’ll know more about his personality after he’s had some time to settle into his foster home but so far, GPAD’s requirements for a forever home for him are 1) a fenced yard (48″ high at least) so he can burn off energy and 2) at least one other dog in the house that he can learn/take cues from and play with.
Update from his fosterer on 7/24: Porter is a smart, confident busy boy. He figured out how to go up & down a full flight of stairs in 18 hours! He isn’t afraid of thunder or loud trucks passing, or people on bicycles or dogs that don’t look like him or children who want to pet him. He’s already fully housebroken and is getting along well with the two resident greyhounds, a male & a female.Although he’s tall enough to put his nose on the kitchen counter, he has never stolen food. He’s super affectionate and gives great kisses!
