Due to a broken outside toe on his right rear foot three months ago (healed now), Arrow’s breeder/owner decided he wouldn’t be registered with the NGA or trained to race. GPAD picked him up from his farm in West Virginia on 7/19.
Arrow is not an over-the-top crazy puppy, but he IS a puppy; DOB is 8/8/25. He ignored the test cat on arrival day but, to be honest, he was so overwhelmed about being inside a house for the first time that he would need to be tested again before placing him in a home with cats.
We’ll know more about his personality after he’s had some time to settle into his foster home but so far, GPAD’s requirements for a forever home for him are 1) a fenced yard so he can burn off energy and 2) at least one other dog in the house that he can learn/take cues from.
Update from Arrow’s fosterers on 7/27: Arrow is very sweet and cuddly; he’ll shower you with as much affection as you will allow. He has settled in easily and is showing his puppy nature. Arrow is very low maintenance for a Greyhound puppy. He occupies himself between naps by cuddling with whichever human is near, throwing toys to himself, and being chased by the two resident greyhounds. He takes correction from the other dogs and is learning to give them space.
