Red aka Burnie, fawn male, 67lbs, 8 races
DOB 7/26/24
From his foster mom after three days: Burnie is lovely. He is very curious about everything – checks out every room & pokes everything with nose. He’s not food driven but responds well to encouragement and redirection. He is sleeping through the night in his crate after a few minutes of minor whining. He asks to go out so he is not in a belly band. He is doing four stairs outside from the deck to the yard but he is unsure about using his hind legs the way he will need to for more steps. He is playing with toys but prefers to carry around his beds and floor mats.
He is a perfect gentleman on leash – no pulling. We saw a small dog and there was no barking or pulling to reach it. He may have the confidence to be an only dog with people who work from home or are retired; we’re starting alone training for short periods of time. He’s doing great in just a few days as a pet!
Burnie is available for adoption at this time but, since his fosterers are in the market for a new greyhound, his status could change quickly.
